HI, I’M JEN

I really like words. That’s probably one of the only things I’ve known for sure my whole life. If you were to go back in time and find my seven-year-old self and wrangle her long enough to tell her she’d be a writer when she grew up, she’d probably look at you and say, “duh.” But I bet she would have thought books. Novels. Long stuff. Not this ‘advertising’ business.

But then I grew up and started writing headlines, and I realized that short form content is more my jam. And I’m sorta-kinda good at it (but I’ll let you be the judge).

YOU SHOULD KNOW

I believe everyone should have fun when they’re at work.

If I make myself laugh when I write, I consider myself lucky. 

If I’m doubly lucky, the person reading what I wrote laughs, too. 

Triply lucky, I get to watch them while they’re doing it.

I think “triply” is a good word.

I do things in excess: use em-dashes, swear, work, buy shoes, adopt cats.

I love Oxford commas and think you should, too. But I won’t get (too) mad if you’re one of THOSE people.

I’m an INTJ but I like to think I have better social skills than that.

I’m the highest C of all the C’s on the DISC chart, but I’m not timid and I don’t wait to get shit done.

If you put me in a box, I’ll break out of it.

I can switch back and forth between creative and technical so fast you’ll get whiplash.

Too much creative makes me crazy. Too much digital makes me boring.

I’ll take creative all day, any day.
